Here's a Sailor Mercury fanart. Because I can. U mad?
Actually a few days ago I was looking at my old Sailor Moon fanart series from a few years ago, and remembered how much trouble I had getting used to, you know, more realistic human body proportions (that's what you get when you learn to draw with cartoons, kids). While I didn't exactly go with the 7:1 or 8:1 body/head ratio, I settled for something that was out of my confort zone at the time, but still close enough to the original design.
Sailor Mercury was my first attempt to this, and I think the original drawing is pretty terrible to my current standards (say what you want, I won't change my opinion about it). So I wanted to give it a go a second time, inserting a "regular" Amy into the mix as well. I also wanted to draw a more dynamic pose since the original one was kinda weird and not really anatomically possible in real life.
Anyway, too much text wall. Off to bed. 5 hours in Paint Tool SAI + Adobe Photoshop CS4. Enjoy! (or not)
I love the colouring and your style used here
