You didn't expect that now didn't you.

I can't really say I'm THAT much into the Sailor Moon series (or Anime for that matter). But my girlfriend made me watch a few seasons of the Anime series (yes yes) and in the end I can say I found it somewhat enjoyable! Out of all the characters, Ami/Sailor Mercury is probably the character I'm the most partial too. Smart girls rule!

Three motives explain the presence of this picture here. #1: I had plans for it for some time already, #2: *Silverlegends started the "Sailor Mercury Month" on DA and I wanted to support him since he's a great DA friend, and #3: I wanted to practise drawing her, as I've been commissioned to draw something similar to this, and last time I drew a Sailor Moon related picture, it wasn't pretty.

I hope I did justice enough to the character. Although I'm quite satisfied with the outcome of this I'm not entirely sure if my drawing style fits with the style it's originally drawn in.

Sketch on paper, then inked and coloured in Adobe Photoshop CS4. Took about 5 hours.

Big Sailor Moon fan, and Mercury is my second favorite of the cast. (first being Haruka. I have a thing for lesbians--don't judge me!!! >_< ). Still, this is a really cute picture. She looks really cuddly!
