Don't look back by TheBourgyman Don't look back by TheBourgyman
A little quickie that turned out to be a complete, fully coloured piece. Ack, I need to do something else.

This is a scene from a level in Super Mario World (the SNES launching game, for the culture-retarded), an old game, but still a favourite of mine. Probably one of the best games made in the old-school era along with SMB3. *QueenBex offered me to participate to one of her art jam and then I told to myself "why not?", despite all the stuff I need to do. And well... that's what I came up with. The black frame is there so that people can use this as their desktop wallpaper if they want to.

And that's pretty much it.

Mario, Yoshi, the Bob-Omb and Goomba species belong to (a.k.a. are copyright (c) to) Nintendo.

I like that! Very clever, just like from the game itself.

I always love to see some artwork on my favorite Mario game now and then.

I really love how you did the background, it looks much better than the palette swap forest background of the original.

I once did a trick on this level. You need to grab a bob-omb, go back to the previous spot where the goomba in the bubble flies to the right, and spin jump when you have the cape when the goomba passes by in a bubble. It launches the bom-omb into the bubble and gets a large amount of 1-ups (my highest was 22, but I usually got 16).

It's tricky due to the button layout (for example, I could do it on GBA, but not on DS).
