Because, admit it, "25 Years of Dying" is a lot catchier than just "Cause of Death" as a title.

Mario celebrated his 25th year among us sometime in late 2010 (more like "25 years of Independence" since he existed since the Donkey Kong arcade game, making him 29 by 2010). I wanted to do something big for the occasion, even though I technically missed the boat by a few months (not practicallysince Mario didn't turn 26 just yet).

So this poster-like illustration is my official tribute to him for the occasion. I didn't cover everything of course, but the most important is there. Just watch out, there's a BIT of blood here and there (hard to spot though since I painted it black). There's some seriously violent deaths in these games, when you think of it...

Sorry for the ugly watermark by the way. I've had people steal some of my artwork before, you would figure this one would be a perfect pick for unscrupulous people wanting to gain easy money in video game shops and Anime conventions. Ugh.

25 Years Of Dying by =TheBourgyman

The suggester said: "A hilarious and yet tragic idea to commemorate the 25th birthday of our most beloved plumber hero. I just couldn't stop laughing at each square. The style of the artist is lovely, not only on this piece but his entire gallery. It's full of humor and a feast for everyone who loves games."

Remember when dying in video games always made you go into a rage and throw a fit? That would be me, and this reminded me of those times! Totally hilarious and a wonderful talent! I think Mario has a world record on the amount of Purple Heart awards received! ( Suggested by *mukuro-sama and Featured by `WildCharmander )

Wow. This is the best collab of Mario I have ever seen, like the Bottomless Pit, Overconfidence, and the Snowball.

I noticed 2 strange things:
1. The Blue Shell dosen't kill Mario, although it stops him.
2. In Eaten, that was really Luigi, and not Mario.

Other than that, I still like this.

My favorite death out of all these is probably the Challenge Lost. You had to race against Shadow Mario on 4 Galaxies. the Honeyhive Galaxy, the Gold Leaf Galaxy, the Sea Slide Galaxy, and the Freezeflame Galaxy.

This contains most of Mario's death, and I think that this is amazing. If there is more, then maybe the Artist might have forgotten them.

Unlike on the games, you really put a different visualization on Mario's [sometimes gorey or disturbing] CODs. It gives anyone a new idea of what exactly Mario experiences... or doesn't want to.

Personally, it IS displaying ideas Nintendo thought of, but only you could add this humoric twist. It only makes it funnier seeing as Mario's stifling the finger on "Challenge lost". It's times like that that you just wanna hit Mario for not resorting to violence *for once*.

The technque, being yours, speaks for itself. You can add humor to anything; and I mean ANYTHING.

Overall impact: I lmao every time I see this.

This is awesome.

It was very entertaining to look through this whole picture.

I love the poison mushroom panel lol, Mario looks so pissed.

The only critic I have with this picture is with the blue shell, it doesn't kill you, and neither does being kidnapped, just saying.

I noticed Luigi's the one being eaten, lol.

You consider overconfidence one of the causes of Mario's deaths? That's a weird one, lol.

I guess that makes since though.

Crushed looked like the most painful death.

You drew each panel so well.

Altogether you did a very great job.

If I had to rate this, I would give it a 4.5 out of 5.

Perdona que ponga dos veces seguidas, es que le he dado al botón sin querer, te contaba que el cartel de Cuantarazon del que te he dejado un enlace NO lo he publicado yo, me parece muy injusto que no se publiquen nunca mis carteles (El de los enemigos y otros que no tienen que ver contigo) pero si venga uno de no se donde y se lo publiquen a la primera sin más y no me den a mí ni a otros con grandes ideas ni una oportunidad, otra muerte que también me fastidia mucho es cuando la cámara se mueve muy rápido y te "traga", fastidia sobre todo en Super Mario World y en Yoshi Island, ¿Pero a que la muerte de el siguiente enlace también fastidia lo suyo? Sin duda, la peor muerte de todas es la de la Materia Oscura (Dark Matter), pues solo con rozarla te desintegrabas en el acto, en el nivel más difícil del primer Super Mario Galaxy llamado "Monedas sobre Luigi" había Materia Oscura por toda la zona de los tirantes del sprite de Luigi, aunque a mi las muertes que más me fastidian son cuando te come el Chep-Chep gigante (Sobre todo en Yoshi Story) y cuando pierdes en un reto que te ha puesto un personaje (Como las carreras contra Forestón ó cuando surfeas montado en un calamar, ambos de Super Mario Sunshine), por cierto, ya hay un cartel en Cuantarazon de esto ([link])
