I haven't written a convention post-mortem in some time, mostly because as conventions come and go, they'll all pretty much the same... But for Anime North, it was, well... OH MAH GAWD so exciting!! It's a good 5-hour drive away from home, probably the farthest convention I've ever attended as an exhibitor so far (not counting France, but again, it doesn't count since I didn't have my own table). Yet, it was my busiest con ever. It's really no wonder people fight to get tables at this convention! For being the fourth biggest Anime convention in North America, it sure shows.
Once again, and as always, I wanna thank all the people who came to talk and/or buy some stuff, especially you guys who came and bought my Supercrash comic books! I know that I repeat myself by mentionning it every time I make a post like this, but I guess I can never quite find the words to express my gratitude for you buying the book, especially considering that it is available for free on my website (for now at least, YARHARHAR). You can still order the book directly from me; all you need to do is send me a Note to let me know of your interest. Prices are discussed
here. Just let me a few days before I can answer you though (some of you already sent me Notes; I'll get back to you as soon as my stuff is sorted out).
My only regret for this con was that I didn't bring enough stuff: I ran out of stock for some items, which rarely happens to me. Many people asked for the Luigi version of
this deviation (which is still convention-exclusive) but as Sunday PM I had no more of them. Let's just say I'll be more prepared next time!
I tried selling pins for the first time during this con, which proved to be a success (I'm not really a pin type of guy, so I was unaware of their potential, until recently). The lovely *
missusrousselee was my table partner, and her presence saved my ass a couple of times this weekend. I can't thank her enough for her assistance (check her stuff out, she has a gorgeous style).
Next convention: Otakuthon 2013 in Montréal and Fan Expo Canada 2013 in Toronto (again), both in August, a week apart from each other. Man, this is gonna be a long summer...
The next part is in French, dealing with the French version of Supercrash. Don't waste your time translating it.

J'ai de bonnes nouvelles pour les fans francophones de Supercrash! Après plusieurs semaines à retenir la nouvelle en attendant que le tout s'officialise, je peux maintenant vous annoncer que la version française de Supercrash sera publiée et éditée par le Studio coopératif Premières Lignes, en format album classique franco-belge! Ça veut dire couverture cartonnée, pleine couleur et tout le tralala! La bédé va être disponible dans toutes les bonnes librairies, dans les quatre coins du Québec à partir de décembre prochain! (donc, dans six mois) Malheureusement, il n'y a pas de sortie prévue en France pour l'instant, mais peut-être éventuellement (il vous sera quand même possible de commander la bédé via Internet, ou de l'importer).
Je sais que certains fans francophones ici comprennent bien l'anglais (on est quand même sur DeviantART, site américain), mais je sais aussi que certains d'entres vous préféraient une version française. Dans les deux cas, vous pourrez choisir la version qui vous convient le plus (la bédé est traduite vers le français par moi directement, donc pas d'adaptation bâclée et de gags perdus dans la traduction!)
Je dois aussi mentionner que la bédé aura évidemment un contexte québécois (ça se passe quand même au Québec, t'sais genre que l'affaire, là), alors certains patois et expressions québécoises y seront présents. Je me suis tout de même arrangé pour que le récit soit compréhensible pour nos amis du vieux continent. Alors y'a pas de soucis à y avoir là-dessus!
Je ne tiens littéralement plus en place, ce sont trop de bonnes nouvelles, et l'annoncer me fait tout autant sauter partout! Ce projet qui a commencé il y a bien plus d'une dizaine d'années va enfin voir la lumière du jour sur papier, de manière officielle et dans un cadre professionel. Je vous ferai part de la suite des choses au fur et à mesure.
Bref, comme on dit on bon québécois, « chu fou comme d'la marde! »
